Google is updating its Search Generative Experience (SGE) tool to include the ability to generate images and text using artificial intelligence. The company announced this on its blog.
Google users who have activated the SGE function in the Google Search Labs section can specify an image description directly in the search bar, and the system generates several images based on it, from which you can choose the most suitable one. The function is based on the Imagen AI model, a Google representative told. The image created by the neural network can be edited using text commands. The generator is also available in the image search section of Google – the search query can be turned into a command for it, and the result will appear in the sidebar.
Every image generated by SGE is tagged with metadata and watermarks indicating that it was created by AI. The ability to create photorealistic images of human faces is disabled; you cannot create pictures with celebrities.
