Adobe introduced Project Res-Up technology. With its help, you can increase the resolution and increase the quality of video recordings and graphic animations. Project Res-Up uses artificial intelligence, which analyzes the image and applies processing to it, increasing resolution, clarity and detail.
Adobe Res-Up technology offers image enlargement due to diffusion, one of the methods of generative artificial intelligence; it allows you to increase the sharpness and detail of the picture. In one example, Adobe demonstrated work with a fragment of the 1947 film “The Red House” – its resolution was increased from 480 × 360 pixels to 1280 × 960 pixels.
The frames obtained using AI became much clearer: the algorithm removed most of the blur and even added new details, such as strands of hair and highlights. The picture looks a little unnatural, which, however, is typical of many images and videos obtained with AI, but it is a noticeable step forward compared to Microsoft’s Video Super Resolution technology.
It is unknown when Project Res-Up technology will become available to ordinary users.
