Futuristic transportation company Hyperloop One will be shut down. Let us remember that she intended to create public transport of the future in the form of a network of low-pressure tunnels and capsules plying through them for intercity transportation of passengers and goods at aircraft speeds. Bloomberg reports the closure, citing its own sources.

The idea of Hyperloop was proposed by Elon Musk in 2012. The idea is for capsules with passengers or cargo to move in pipes above the surface of the earth in conditions of highly rarefied air at speeds of up to 1,220 km/h.

The company is now trying to sell its remaining assets, including the test track and equipment.  It is noted that Hyperloop One has already fired most of its employees and closed its office in Los Angeles. Other workers tasked with overseeing the sale of assets were told their jobs would end on December 31, the agency said.

Hyperloop One was founded in June 2014, reorganized and renamed on October 12, 2017. In November 2020, Virgin Hyperloop One conducted the world’s first human testing of a superfast transportation system in the United States.
