Google has launched a new tool for developing applications and chatbots, which is based on the recently announced Gemini family of models. With AI Studio, you can quickly create apps and chatbots, get API keys to integrate them into your apps, or access code to go deeper in the IDE.
AI Studio is a web-based developer tool that functions as a gateway to the broader Gemini ecosystem, from the advanced neural network Gemini Pro to the most powerful Gemini Ultra, due out next year. With this service, developers can quickly create Gemini-based prompts and chatbots, and then receive API keys to use in their applications, or access to code to work on it in a more fully featured IDE.
For developers using the free subscription (which is pretty much it for now, since Google plans to launch a paid version only at the same time as the Gemini Ultra model), Google reviewers will be able to control the input and output of APIs and web applications to “improve the quality of the product”. Google guarantees that this data will not be associated with the Google account and API keys of a specific user.
Google AI Studio allows you to export your work to other development environments, including Vertex AI. Google Developer X Vice President and General Manager Janine Banks noted that AI Studio is an entry point into Google’s broader AI ecosystem. “We also ship a suite of SDKs that allow developers to run and build apps on Gemini Pro that can run virtually anywhere, from backends with Node.js and Python support, to mobile devices with support for Java, Kotlin and Swift, to the web. with JavaScript, of course,” Banks said.
