OnePlus 12 Smartphone Presented In China

After numerous leaks and rumors in recent weeks, OnePlus has officially launched its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. It succeeds the OnePlus 11, announced in January 2023. The initial release will be exclusive to China, with global availability of the phone expected in January 2024.

After numerous leaks and rumors in recent weeks, OnePlus has officially launched its next flagship smartphone, the OnePlus 12. It succeeds the OnePlus 11, announced in January 2023. The initial release will be exclusive to China, with global availability of the phone expected in January 2024.

The OnePlus 12 boasts a 6.82-inch curved AMOLED LTPO display supporting a resolution of 3168×1440 pixels. The panel is from BOE, which supports an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and provides a peak brightness of 4500 cd/m² for HDR content and up to 1600 cd/m² during normal use, and also supports PWM backlight control at 2160 Hz.

The hardware basis of OnePlus 12 is the advanced 8-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor (one Cortex-X4 core with a frequency of up to 3.3 GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores (three with a frequency of up to 3.2 GHz and two with a frequency of up to 3. 0 GHz), as well as two Cortex-A520 cores with a frequency of up to 2.3 GHz), which is manufactured using a 4 nm process technology. Users will have access to smartphone options with 12, 16 or 24 GB of RAM and 256, 512 GB and 1 TB of storage.

The main camera of the device is based on a 50-megapixel Sony Lytia-808 (f/1.6) sensor. It is complemented by a module with a telephoto lens (f/2.6) and a large-format 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B matrix, placed under a periscope lens system, with support for 3x optical zoom. The third camera is a wide-angle module (f/2.2) with a 48 MP Sony IMX581 sensor. The smartphone supports 8K video recording at 24 frames per second, 4K at up to 60 frames per second, or 1080p at up to 240 frames per second. Support for Auto HDR, gyro-EIS and Dolby Vision technologies has been implemented.

The new product also has holographic sound, “the most powerful vibration motor in the industry,” multifunctional NFC, as well as Dolby Atmos stereo speakers and an under-screen optical fingerprint scanner.

In China, the price of OnePlus 12 varies from 4299 yuan for the 12/256 GB version to 5799 yuan for the 24 GB/1 TB version. The smartphone has so far been presented only in China, but the global premiere will not be long in coming.
