EchoStar and The Things Industries today announced they are working together to deploy hybrid Internet of Things (IoT) solutions with satellite connectivity and LoRa technology for enterprises in Europe. The companies have incorporated EchoStar’s satellite IoT capabilities into The Things Stack, a robust cloud-based LoRaWAN network server, providing customers with real-time, two-way communications with IoT devices via satellite and terrestrial networks through a universal node with dual data technologies.

Until now, LoRa technology has had its limitations due to the limitations of ground infrastructure. However, EchoStar’s innovative approach to satellite communications removes these barriers.

The collaboration provides satellite connectivity to The Things Stack LoRaWAN network server and its Generic Node Concept Edition, giving customers the ability to effortlessly expand the range and reliability of their connected IoT devices.

With satellite capabilities and a time-limited free trial for every connected device, companies can easily expand their IoT deployments to remote and challenging locations.
